Resilient Point Roberts submits briefing to local Economic Development Strategy Study
In our April 3rd meeting, participants had the chance to discuss what it means to be resilient and goals for our community through a resilient economic development lens. The results of this working session were submitted to the county as input for the ongoing Point Roberts Economic Development Strategy Study being led by the Port of Bellingham through funding from a Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) grant.
Resilient Point Roberts working groups in the areas of (1) Cultural and Social Connections, (2) Mobility and Transportation, (3) Natural Assets, and (4) Emerging Disasters and Preparedness made recommendations which were outlined and shared with the Port of Bellingham’s economic development team and consultants leading the study.
